Service Description

We will begin our walking tour of Montmartre at the foot of the Sacré-Cœur Basilica, the great symbol of Paris' bohemian neighborhood. After admiring this neo-Byzantine temple, built at the top of Montmartre hill, we will take a stroll to the Place du Tertre. The famous square of the painters! In this iconic esplanade, we will learn about the great link between art and the neighborhood, where great masters of the brush such as Pablo Picasso have resided. The next stop will be at Clos Montmartre, the neighborhood's last vineyard. We will discuss the historical, social, and cultural importance of wine in this area of Paris and learn the meaning of various words related to French viticulture, such as terroir. Nearby is Parc Marcel, a picturesque park where we will continue to delve into the world of oenology. What are the main techniques used in French winemaking? What are the most important stages? After an hour's walk through Montmartre, we will make our last stop at the restaurant Les Naturistes. Here we will spend an hour enjoying a tasting of three wines: a red, a white, and a third wine that we will taste blind. Among the varieties we will taste, there will be wines from such prominent wine-producing regions as the Loire, Languedoc-Roussillon, Beaujolais, Provence, Bugey, and Alsace. Minors will be able to drink juice or soft drinks. The next stop will be at Clos Montmartre, the last We will accompany the wines with a platter of three French cheeses. Among the varieties we will be able to taste are Comté, Brillat-Savarin, Crottin de Chèvre, and Camembert. It will be the perfect pairing! Finally, we will conclude this two-hour activity at the restaurant.
